Cricketers’ pay tribute to Jordan Thompson
DURHAM ace Phil Mustard cheered the winners of a cricket competition held in memory of a teenage cancer victim.
The North East-born batsman and wicketkeeper, who has also played for England, attended the under-18s tournament at Ponteland Cricket Club.
With matches also held at Benwell and Walbottle Cricket Club, the competition was a tribute to sports fanatic Jordan Thompson, from West Denton, Newcastle.
The youngster, nicknamed “Toma”, would have celebrated his 18th birthday this year, three years after he lost a long battle with cancer.
