Fundraising Hints and Tips
Do not be afraid to use all your contacts, friends, family, acquaintances, old school friends, workmates, members of your sports club, local pub etc. Exploit every possible lead! Research who you are sending fundraising letters to and make sure they fit with your charity.
Make the Most!
Use websites Justgiving.com – an easy way to collect and track funds.
Contact us for our Sponsorship form If you are using a sponsor form start it off with the most generous sponsors as this will set a high standard for others to follow.
Ask your employer to support the charity. Many companies match £ for £ donations made by their employees to registered charities. This is tax efficient to them and a fantastic way of increasing sponsorship.
Motivate yourself and others by setting yourself high targets and tell people how much you are aiming to raise.
Never feel guilty about asking people to sponsor you as you are helping an extremely worthwhile cause.
Show the sponsors how and where their money helps the charity.
Sponsored events OR Ticket event?
When deciding on an event choose carefully! Will it be a sponsored event OR a ticket event?
Take all opportunities to raise money for charity!
Write to Local businesses and local clubs explain what you are doing, for whom and why. Offer to give a talk about your plans for the charity. Explain they could receive publicity for helping your charity.
Ask for Anything! Donations of goods for Raffles or traditional sponsorship. A Company may not be able to offer financial help but a prize for a raffle will also raise funds. Accept all support!
