Swimmers raise cash in tribute to Stockton Coach
A SWIMMING club has been busy fundraising in memory of an inspirational swimming coach.
Stockton Amateur Swimming Club raised £1,000 in memory of Richard Walburn, a volunteer coach at the club until his death aged just 24.
Staff, family and friends pulled together for a sponsored swim to raise vital cash for the Toma Fund, which supports children and young people across the region suffering from cancer.
Richard, from Fairfield in Stockton, died in July 2009 after a long and brave battle against a brain tumour.
Huge thanks to Dennis and Judy (parents of the late Richard Walburn) Clem and all at Stockton Amatuer Swimming Club for raising a fantastic £1,000.
