Christmas Carol and Tree Lighting Service #3
Toma Fund would like to invite you to our special Christmas Carol Service for the Third year. Please take the time to read below..........
Christmas is a wonderful time for families but sometimes it is also very hard for those that know the other side of all the celebrations :( If you have a child/teenager going through cancer treatment or if unfortunately you have lost your beloved child or a loved one whether young or old, it seems hard to contemplate celebrating or not being able to send that card or special gift. This year TOMA FUND would like to invite you all again to our family Carol Service, where you will be joined together with the TOMA FUND family of supporters with traditional carols, mince pies a warm drink and a raffle.
During our service we will also have a special tree lighting ceremony where each light on our tree will shine in remembrance of a loved one who is sadly missed this Christmas. The church will be in darkness at this point of the service and each loved one's name will be read out as we take the time to remember our loved one's who are sadly only able to be in our hearts during the festive period. The tree lights are available to anyone who would like to remember their loved one in this very special way, no matter how young or old.
There is a suggested minimum £5 donation required for a light to represent your loved one, no longer with us, which can be paid for by cheque and sent to our fundraising office;
It is VERY IMPORTANT to us that we get your loved one's name read out correctly so please ensure you write this clearly and include it with your cheque or e mail to; firstname.lastname@example.org
Following our service we will be handing out special festive memory cards for those who have been a part of the tree lighting ceremony with your loved ones name printed on this.
Many of our young supporters who have won their battle with cancer will be taking part in short readings and thanksgiving prayers and we would love to have you all come together with us so we can give thanks for the Doctors, Nurses, Clergy and TOMA FUND family of friends and supporters who make life a little more bearable whilst going through treatment.
We would love to see you all there ,including our Great North Children's Hospital (RVI) Mums, Dads, Children, Teenagers and families, friends and supporters.
Father Corbett is the Priest for the RVI children and teenagers cancer unit and is a regular visitor to the hospital and has kindly offered us his amazing church and his time to help us with this beautiful Christmas Service.
