We wanted to share with you the help we've been able to provide and will be loading this page with a case studies on an ongoing basis.
Emily Rudd from Tynemouth received a grant from us to fund her expenses to attend her exams in Hull.
Emily Rudd is 21 years old and was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma in Aug 2102. Emily requested our help to fund her to return to Hull University to take her exams. Emily was a student at Hull University before being diagnosed with cancer and has had to return to her home in the North East to continue treatment. We recently spoke to Emily who had this to say:
Receiving a grant from Toma Fund was a huge help to me in January when I went down to Hull (where I should be at university) to sit my exams, in covering hotel, travel and food costs while I was there. I recently got my exam results and achieved a 2:1 and a 1st, and the money you gave me allowed me not to be concerned about any costs while I was there, like food and taxis to get around. I have 2 more exams in May/June which I will use the remainder of the money to help with costs again so I can graduate in July!
Once again, thank you for your help, it is greatly appreciated and I will never forget the help you gave me!
